India Day & Bollywood Magic: Charlotte, NC
Charlotte, NC – February 23, 2019 –  The Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina came alive with a culture-rich Indian-American heritage night as part of the NBA Nets vs. Hornets game on February 23, 2019. Each ticket included a reserved seat at the 7:00pm NBA game as well as a seat for the national dance competition, Bollywood Magic, and access to a full line up of unique cultural entertainment throughout the night. Hornet Fans were able to watch their HoneyBees perform an Indian Cultural Inspired routine during a time out break.

 EXCEL INDIA® organizes India Day Heritage Nights in partnership with NBA franchises across the country. The in-game events promote Indian-American heritage through the development of creative community partnerships and networking events.   BOLLYWOOD MAGIC® is a national dance showcase and competition providing culture-rich entertainment featured before, during and after the NBA franchise games.  NBA franchises include: Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets.

Bollywood Magic: Orlando, FL

Orlando, Florida – December 6, 2018 –  BOLLYWOOD MAGIC® is a national dance showcase and competition providing culture-rich entertainment highlighting Indian lifestyle through music, dance and fashion; in partnership with NBA franchises around the country including: Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets.

 

The most recent BOLLYWOOD MAGIC® competition was held on November 18, 2017 at the Amway Center before the Orlando Magic took on the New York Nicks.  BOLLYWOOD MAGIC® invited dance troops from all over the United Stated to enter the competition for prizes worth $10,000.

Over 400 participants competed, three winners were selected: Bollywood Dance Mania, Nritya Dance Academy and CNR Dance.  Winners performed during the pre-game show and the first place winner performed during the halftime show.  The event drew over 1,000 spectators with participation from a varied demographic including locals from countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Trinidad and Guyana.

Bollywood Magic & India Day: Charlotte, NC

Charlotte, NC – January 20, 2018 –  Excel India, an organization based out of Orlando co-founded by former Bollywood actress Chandni Navodita hosted their first Bollywood Magic and India Day in Charlotte. Excel India's mission is to bring Indian culture to the mainstream. The festivities included the Hornet's cheerleading squad, the Honyebees performing a Bollywood number during a time out in full Bollywood outfits. Beginning at 1pm, 13 dance teams descended into Spectrum Arena all vying for a chance to perform in front of up to 20,000 people during halftime of the Charlotte Hornets vs. the Miami Heat game that evening. Teams came from all over, ranging from Charlotte to Cary to a team from Orlando.
